NTRAK is a 40-plus year-old standard that brought model railroading out of hiding in the basement and into the public eye, not only at train shows, but at shopping malls, building lobbies, museums, holiday events and other locations to attract a much wider audience and allow sharing of the hobby with people who were not ware of model railroading.
NTRAK was a major factor in the renaissance of model railroading in the 1980s and resulted in N scale becoming the second most popular model railroad scale. At the same time, the concept was quickly adopted by modelers in other scales to allow them to bring their modeling out into the open.
The NTRAK Newsletter has been published for over 40 years and continues to be a communications vehicle for the N scale community.
